promotion of business, tourism and the principle of building a better community."
Membership Development
Purpose: To focus on the recruitment and retention of Chamber membership by
providing services and opportunities for networking.
Member Services
- Publish a monthly newsletter
- Provide listing of membership on Chamber Web Site with links to their Web
sites
- Assist and promote membership by performing and/or promoting ribbon
cuttings, groundbreaking ceremonies, and open houses
Networking Opportunities
- Host "Chamber after Hours" events
- Sponsor Chamber Ambassador Program
- Host Annual Chamber of Commerce banquet
- Recognize Outstanding leader in community
- Enhance and strengthen the financial basis of the Chamber
- Continue the spring golf tournament
Business Promotion and
Support
Purpose: To promote and support local businesses and industries in efforts to
improve the economic climate of our community
Legislative Affairs
- Participate in SEK Day on the Hill – February 8th, 2006
- Host Legislative Coffees
- Assist KCCI & SEK Inc. with Legislative Issues that are of benefit to our
membership
Workforce Development
- Support local workforce development programs
Transportation
- Support and participate in efforts to improve Highway 400 development
Business Promotion
- Host a social event that highlights local industries
- Assist the City of Parsons, SEK Inc., Downtown Parsons and the Kansas
Department of Commerce with economic development efforts.
- Promote local businesses & encourage local spending.
Community Development
Purpose: To encourage and facilitate activities that will enhance our quality
of life
Education
- Support local education systems
- Recognize Educator's at their kick-off events in the fall
- Sponsor Leadership Development Programs

- Organize the Parsons Christmas Parade jointly with other community groups

- Function as the tourism office for Parsons and Labette County
